Then To Now
The WH is an early 18th century inn, which used to be frequented for accommodation and stables by those travelling on the Brighton Road. It is one of the oldest pub sites in Brixton, still holding on to its original name. An original 'DJ Boozer', it is one of Brixton's best loved late night venues for partying, drinking and dining and provides a sophisticated yet down to earth venue that is the backdrop for cosy and intimate parties.
With a recent change in management our philosophy is to give friendly efficient service of great food and drinks in a laid back environment (accompanied by a soundtrack spanning generations).
Weekend evenings see White Horse subliminally drifting into a hedonistic house party vibe where diverse and upbeat party revellers enjoy dancing till the small hours with both credible and local dj's donning our well oiled decks, playing everything from breaks to electro to hip hop and funk, living up to our reputation of Brixtons best club 2005 (as voted by mybrixton.com).
After all that Sundays set the scene for all out relaxing. Roasts (often prepared by Matts mum!!) accompanied by Will Rutter and guests own brand of live jazz folk from 4pm followed by Larrys eclectic Sunday evening mix. |
